Sweet Potato (Yam) Baby Food Puree Recipe (4 month +)
Sweet potatoes were ranked number one by CSPI (Center for Science in the Public Interest) in nutrition of all vegetables! Not to mention it’s very tasty :o) It full of dietary fiber , complex carbohydrates, vitamins A and C, naturally occurring sugars ,iron, protein and calcium.
Baking Sweet Potatoes for Baby Food:
1. Wash and poke holes in the sweet potato with fork then wrap sweet potatoes in tin foil
2. Place in a 400 degree oven and bake for 30 to 40 minutes or until soft
3. When cooled scoop out the "meat" .
I always use a liquid from your preferred source to soften or thin the sweet potatoes.
Boiling/Steaming Sweet Potatoes for Baby Food:
1. Peel sweet potatoes and cut into small chunks.
2. Place chunks into a pan with just enough water to slightly cover potato.
3. Cook until tender, don't forget to check on the water level.
Vegetables going well with Sweet Potatoes:
Carrots
Sweet Peas
Lentil
Brown Rice
Zucchini
Chicken
Beef
White fish
Avocado
